In a speech delivered on Wednesday on the 13th anniversary of Bahrain’s February 14, 2011, uprising, Sheikh Qassim regarded the occasion as one of confrontation between the truth and falsehood.

“The movement of the people of Bahrain will not stop and their determination to bring about change will not see defeat or retreat,” he said, the Bahrain Mirror reported.

The 14th of February is not just a day for Bahrain but one of the confrontation between the truth and falsehood, he stated.

The senior cleric added that the government in Manama will be defeated against the people no matter what it does.

The day of change, day of victory and day of return of dignity and magnificence for Bahrain will come and full independence from the US and the Zionist regime will be achieved, he stressed.

Anti-monarchy demonstrations began on February 14, 2011, and have been held on a regular basis ever since the popular uprising started.

Demonstrators demand that the Al Khalifa regime relinquish power, and a democratic, just system representing all Bahrainis be established.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Qassim referred to the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and underscored the need for the Muslim world to help Gaza.

He also condemned normalization of ties with the Zionist regime as a move against Islam, Muslims and human dignity.

Muslims must stand up against normalization of ties with the Tel Aviv regime, he stated.

If the Islamic Ummah gets united, it would not be difficult to force the Zionist out of occupied Palestine, he went on to say.
